The QCD Phase Diagram from Chiral Approaches
I show an updated QCD phase diagram with recent developments from chiral effective theories and phenomenological models. Expected signals of a QCD critical point accessible in heavy-ion collisions are also discussed. In particular, non-monotonic behavior of fluctuations associated with conserved charges is focused on.
متن کاملQcd Phase Diagram in Nonlocal Chiral Quark Models
The QCD phase diagram is analyzed within chiral quark models with nonlocal separable interactions. For the case of two light flavors, we describe in detail the characteristics of the chiral phase transition in the T − µ plane, and analyze the color superconducting phase transition taking place at relatively large chemical potentials. We also consider the three-flavor version of the models, anal...
متن کاملIn-medium chiral perturbation theory beyond the mean–field approximation
An explicit expression for the generating functional of two–flavor low–energy QCD with external sources in the presence of non-vanishing nucleon densities has been derived recently [1]. Within this approach we derive power counting rules for the calculation of in-medium pion properties. We develop the so-called standard rules for residual nucleon energies of the order of the pion mass and a mod...
متن کاملSelf-consistent Mean Field Theory in Weakly Ionized Gas
We present a self-consistent mean field theory of the dynamo in 3D and turbulent diffusion in 2D in weakly ionized gas. We find that in 3D, the backreaction does not alter the beta effect while it suppresses the alpha effect when the strength of a mean magnetic field exceeds the critical value Bc ∼ √ νinτn〈v2〉/Rm. Here, νin, τn, and Rm are ion-neutral collision frequency, correlation time of ne...
متن کاملBose-Einstein condensation in self-consistent mean-field theory
There is a wide-spread belief in the literature on Bose-Einstein condensation of interacting atoms that all variants of mean-field theory incorrectly describe the condensation phase transition, exhibiting, instead of the necessary second-order transition, a first-order transition, even for weakly interacting Bose gas. In the present paper, it is shown that a self-consistent mean-field approach ...
